NOTES:
Following the sudden death of my friend and collaborator Justin Haynes in March 2019, I wrote ‘Thank You and Goodnight’ for his memorial service in Toronto. It was performed that day so beautifully by Tania Gill on rhodes and Nick Fraser on drums.
Tania and I recorded this new version of the song in January 2020 with Justin’s uncontainable spirit dancing in our hearts. Justin Haynes [1973-2019] was a brilliant, beautiful musician and vibrant creative force, and he is deeply missed. He endured a lifetime of complex and cyclical struggles beyond his control... I lovingly dedicate this piece to his memory, and to an understanding and compassion for those sensitive souls amongst us who suffer likewise through no fault of their own.
